Our Department has become inundated with an increase in the number of identity thefts, scam, etc... Victims we converse with daily are more driven toward the 55 age range but recently our department has seen an uptick in age ranges from 20 to 55 years of age. Please "do not" provide your personal information to another over the phone or via text. If this one rule was adhered to, our victims would decrease in large numbers. If you have questions about a transaction you are about to make, simply do not make it and call our office and speak to the Sheriff or an investigator.

The cases we work are becoming more and more elaborate and creative to say the least. Do not give your personal information to anyone. It is hard to believe that some victims are so naive to believe that they must send some form of cash or a Green Dot card, Gift card, etc. to a literal unknown person. Do not send these to people you do not know personally.
